This week's spotlight athlete is Gabby! She is usually a night class attendee, but you will often see her on Saturday mornings and in the competitor's class as well!
When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?
I first started Crossfit Beyond or Crossfit in general due to a living social deal I found in August of 2012. Being new to the Albany area, my motivation level was at slim to none when it came to working out so I thought what the heck and tried out crossfit.
What fitness activities were you doing before?
Before I came here I was very active, participating in any outdoor activities I could. In high school I ran track and I was a dancer/cheerleader my whole life. I even cheered in the NFL for 3 years for my favorite team, the Buffalo Bills! I also taught pilates for about 5 years which kept me flexible and healthy.
What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?
Since I have joined crossfit I have become a lot stronger. I have learned how to eat better, I have seen more definition in my muscles and my overall health and well-being is so much better.
What do you like most about CF?
Working in the beer business, it is hard to stay motivated and keep a good figure!
What is your favorite CF exercise?
My favorite crossfit movement is probably a deadlift but I love to squat too.
Your least favorite?
My least favorite movements would have to be burpees and rowing.
What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
I am proud of many things that I have achieved in the past year and a half. Rope Climbing, Handstand Pushups and most of all Pullups but the family at Crossfit beyond is unbeatable.
What CF goal are you working towards?
I am so glad to have met everyone and I cannot wait for Mayhem in the Meadowlands!
