Some of you may know that our trainer Sheila ran and completed the Boston Marathon two weeks ago. That in itself is an amazing accomplishment. But what some of you may not know is her incredibly inspiring story of heartbreak, perseverance, and determination. It is a story that needs to be told, to be read, and to be shared. It is a genuine example of not giving up no matter what obstacles are put in your way. Sheila ran the Boston Marathon last year, and was less than a mile from the finish line when she witnessed both bombings. She ran for her life instead of crossing the finish line. What was supposed to be happy occasion, turned into a terrifying one. She returned to Boston and ran again this year, taking back the joy of and sense of accomplishment that was taken from her a year ago.
Below are her blog posts after running the marathon last year as well as her blog post from this year. They are extremely powerful posts! Sheila is a true inspiration for us all! Congratulations Sheila!
