When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?
I started CrossFit almost two years ago. I secretly wanted too but was a little intimidated. Then I found out my friend Deb Streeter was going to Crossfit Beyond and I signed up.
What fitness activities were you doing before?
I was an amateur competitive rower with Albany Rowing Center. I still row, but am no longer racing. I am also a spin instructor and used to do sprint and Olympic distance triathlons....lots of cardio!
What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?
I have definitely gotten stronger; I am lifting heavier weights and am getting better with form and technique. I am also much more confident and not as intimidated to try and keep trying even if I am unable to do it now. I figure eventually I will get it.
What do you like most about CF?
The people at Crossfit; just really good supportive people. I like the varied challenge, and working to 1 rep max. It sets the bar for the movement, but gives you the goal to surpass.
What is your favorite CF exercise?
People assume I will say the rower, but I hate that machine, psychological and physical torture. I like the complex movements. I think it is neat to string together the movements.
Your least favorite?
Running, running with a ball, running pulling a sled, running pushing a sled....yep, running. (Oh, and squat snatches...ugh)
What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
I can almost do a real pull up. I can do a few double unders, and am so close to being able to string a bunch together. I can do a handstand and a mini/modified HSPU.
What CF goal are you working towards?
Multiple pull ups, double unders, and I want to dead lift 200# (I am at 195#).
