When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?

I started doing Crossfit during late 2012 when a frat brother introduced me to it. It aligned with my goals of becoming a well-rounded strength competitor; meaning not only lifting heavy, but also maintaining gymnast skills as well as decent running times.


What fitness activities were you doing before?

I was always semi-athletic. I really enjoyed heavy lifting though the most.


What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?

Since joining Crossfit Beyond, I’ve found that my passion for strength has really increased. I knew that this was for me immediately. Joining Crossfit Beyond has essentially helped me find and develop my career interests. Physically, I’ve seen great improvements in my work capacity. I’ve learned how to keep balance in my strength program.


What do you like most about CF?

I love that Crossfit has a huge emphasis on philanthropy. Everyone around works hard. On Crossfit as a training tool though, I would have to say that my favorite part is that it blends many different athletic endeavors, making an individual well rounded. The biggest guy isn’t always the best, like in the other sports I’ve played. This helps because I’m a smaller dude when compared to most competitors.


What is your favorite CF exercise?

Anything related to strength or olympic lifting!


Your least favorite?

Double Unders and running…..Ewww


What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?

The accomplishment I am most proud of isn’t a physical trait or a number. It revolves around learning how to educate and communicate. I’ve wanted to learn so much more about strength. I went around looking for information and meeting as many people as I can on the topic. This is a prefect relation to finding a job in the real world. Crossfit has made me an effective communicator.


What CF goal are you working towards?

I want to get strong. Right now, I’m really focusing on trying to keep my mobility while adding on sheer strength in preparation for next year’s open. Also hoping to do an Olympic lifting meet, power lifting meet and strongman competition. Experimentation!
