CrossFit Beyond is entering a Video Contest with CrossFit Inc. It is a contest about the story of our box.
We are currently looking for athletes that would like to share their experience. We will have both video and sound over. You can choose one or both. The video is very short 7-8mins. Your part would only be 30-40secs. We will be actually interviewing for the parts and will only choose 4-5 athletes.

Spotlight Athlete-Alexsey!!

This week's spotlight athlete is Alexsey! Alexsey attends class at all different times, and you will also catch him during competitors class. Read on to learn more about Alexsey's fantastic story since moving to the Albany area!


When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?

I began doing Crossfit back in the summer of 2013 at Crossfit Mohawk Valley, once I finished my BA. I never had the time to commit to any type of workout regiment, so I would go on and off to “Globo gyms”. I wanted something more from working out, and I was ready to commit to a whole new fitness world.

 

What fitness activities were you doing before?

Not much to be honest. I did run, and I still continue to run for road races and want to start training for half marathons. As mentioned before, I would go to planet fitness on and off. I couldn't commit to any type of workout regiment at regular gyms, because I would get bored with doing the same workouts. I never saw progress by working out at regular gyms.

 

What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?

Since joining Crossfit Beyond I have seen immense increase in my endurance and strength, especially during WODs. I am now doing at least half of the WODs at RX.

 

What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?  

I love the family atmosphere at Crossfit Beyond. When I first moved out from the Utica, NY area, I searched for a box that had the same atmosphere as former one. Crossfit Beyond is just what I needed.

What is your favorite CF exercise?

My favorite Crossfit exercise would have to be Squats, I love Squats.

 

Your least favorite? 

My least favorite would have to be Dead lifts and Cleans.


What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of? 

I am very proud of my endurance progress and my strength.

 

What CF goal are you working towards?

And as far as a goal, I would have to say I want to complete a bar muscle up by New Years.
