CrossFit Kids New Session Begins this Sunday 5/31!!






*******We understand that the summer months can get pretty busy for everyone's schedule, therfore, we will be using a punch card system for the months of June-August! CAN'T make it to a class or two-NO PROBLEM! We will punch your card for the classes that you CAN attend.********

We have been providing children 4-11years old with an extra edge since 2010. We teach Olympic lifting, gymnastics and sprinting as followed by the CrossFit methodology and theories. WHILE HAVING FUN! Kids love it!

Our next session begins Sunday May 31st! The 6 week sessions are $65 and can be purchased HERE.  Come see how we make "fitness" ----- "FUN"!!  (Adults are encouraged to come and participate with the kids or workout on their own as apart of their child's membership)

Spotlight Athlete-Colleen!!


This week's Spotlight Athlete is Colleen! Colleen is a night class attendee, who started weightlifting with her father! Read on to learn more about Colleen's success with CrossFit!

When and Why did you first start doing Crossfit?

Crossfit was something I started doing with my father when I was living at home before my freshman in college. He built a gym in our garage and taught me the basics of  weightlifting.  It was something we could do together and soon family friends joined us every summer between college semesters.



What fitness activities were you doing before?
I used to be an avid soccer player in both high school and college. My fitness depended 
mostly on running much to my dismay.


What results have you seen since you joined Crossfit Beyond?
I am stronger than I have ever been and I have developed healthier lifestyle with less ice 


What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?
I enjoy the community that Crossfit encourages. When I come to the gym it’s a big group of 
friends doing a work out together.


What is your favorite CF exercise?
Box jumps/ Squat Cleans are a few of my favorite things.


What is your least favorite CF exercise?
No matter what anyone says, I’ll never like burpees.


What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
Getting through multiple pull ups without weeping 


What CF goal are you working towards?I’m working towards getting those pesky overhead squats down and maybe getting a muscle up one day.

Memorial Day Murph and Brunch on Monday!!



9:00am- 4th Annual Murph Memorial Day Workout at CrossFit Beyond

Family, friends, and pets are invited to participate!

We also have reservations for brunch at the Gateway Diner in Albany at 11:00am following the workout-Join Us!

Mini Murph and Smurf Murph can also be done as a workout!!

Murph is a CrossFit WOD done in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is. Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.(

Ladies WOD & Wine Night-June 19th @ 7pm!!





Ladies WOD and WINE night (Bring a Friend to CrossFit)

Friday June 19th at 7pm!

It's Ladies Night at CrossFit Beyond! Bring your girlfriends for a Free WOD (workout of the day), then stick around for wine. It's a great way to introduce your friends to CrossFit and show them what you do at the gym. Fine, fabulous females of all skill levels are welcome!wine.jpeg

If you are a member of CrossFit Beyond, bring a friend to the gym and show them what CrossFit is all about---how easy, fun and scalable it is. Plus, we'll have wine after!!

If you aren't a member, come...IT IS FREE! Come with a friend or two. We'll introduce you to crossfit, all the friendly members of CrossFit Beyond and get you through a WOD (workout of the day). after!

Spotlight Athlete-Michie!!


This week's Spotlight Athlete is Michie! Michie  is a morning class attendee, who joined CrossFit Beyond 6 months ago. Read on to learn more about Michie's story of success with CrossFit!

When and Why did you first start doing Crossfit?

I started doing Crossfit about 6 months ago after many of my friends and teammates had suggested it. I started because I wanted to get stronger and more fit to play rugby in my off season.


What fitness activities were you doing before?

I was doing machines/running at the gym and playing rugby with the Albany Knickerbockers, along with hiking and various other outdoor activities.


What results have you seen since you joined Crossfit Beyond?

I have seen amazing results in only 6 months. I can make it through a full rugby match (80 minutes) like it's nothing. I feel myself running faster in games and hitting harder. All around, I feel stronger, happier, and like I have way more endurance since joining Crossfit.
What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?

I like the environment and the people most! It's a really positive and motivating place. I find that I do way more than I ever would do by myself.


What is your favorite CF exercise?

My favorite CF exercises are back squats, wall balls, and box jumps.


What is your least favorite CF exercise?

My least favorite CF exercises are snatches and dead lifts.


What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?

Most recently, I did half of the monkey bars outside the box. I'm super proud of this because it's something I never thought I'd be able to do. I'm also really proud that I can do a wall handstand, which I had similar feelings about when I started.
What CF goal are you working towards?

I want that bell! I am working towards doing the rope climb and also doing a pullup without a band.
