It has been a very busy holiday season for us here at CrossFit Beyond! We have some of the most amazing and generous members! We are all about community and giving back! We were able to successfully help raise money for several organizations in the month of December alone!
- We donated several large bins of non perishable food items to the Veteran's Miracle Center in Albany. They provide clothing, personal care and hygiene products, houseware items, ambulatory equipment, toys for their children and much more-free-of-charge to veterans and their immediate household.
- Our very own member, Alexis ran the Memphis Marathon to benefit St. Jude children's research hospital. Signing up for the marathon as a St. Jude hero, she vowed to fundraise $2,500 for the amazingly brave children and families of St. Jude! We were able to donate to and support her cause and she is still accepting donations for St. Jude here:
- Another one of our members, Andres, started a gofundme page for families in one of the most vulnerable communities of his home town in Colombia. With help from our members, he was able to raise over $1500 and help 63 families in need.
Giving back and building community is important to us! We look forward to continuing this mentality in 2017! Wishing you all a very healthy and happy new year!
- Lastly, one of our members Jane, started a donation bucket at the gym for the tragedy in Aleppo. We collected donations for the White Helmets organization. The White Helmets are unarmed volunteers who risk their lives to help anyone in need - regardless of their religion or politics. Known as the White Helmets these volunteer rescue workers operate in the most dangerous place on earth.
