> 1. A coxswain or bow person says “way enough” meaning “stop”!
>
> 2. A WOD is the “work out of the day”. Strangely sometimes there are more than one of these in a day.

> 3. A coxswain or bow person will say “in two” to represent the number of strokes or beats before rowers follows a command. Example: “In two, increase stroke rating to 24 beats a minute.”
>
> 4. “3-2-1”, how long to rest before picking the bar up again!

> 5. When rowers slide too fast forward to the catch it is called “rushing the slide”. You never want to rush your only recovery.

> 6. Coxswains or a bow person may call a “power 10” to have the crew increase the stroke power but maintain a smooth recovery and stroke rating.
>
> 7. “As Many Repetitions (or Rounds) As Possible” – a time limit is provided in a WOD and the athletes must accomplish the movement/lift AMRAP in the timeframe allowed.
>
> 8. “On The Minute” - this means that the athlete performs the movement/lift at the start of each minute. Once completed, the athlete can rest until the next minute starts.
>
> 9. Coxswains or a bow person (and sometimes a crankie rower) will call “set it up” to have the boat leveled if it is tilting to either port or starboard.
>
> 10. A “Master” rower just means you are over 27 years old!
>
> 11. “W4-“ is an uncoxed women’s four person sweep boat (Sweep meaning one oar per rower.)
>
> 12. A “Box” is what crossfitters call their gym.
>
> 13. “Hand Stand Push-Ups” – fun!! (Really)
>
> 14. When an oar blade gets stuck in the water it is called “catching a crab”. It normally brings the boat to a startling stop!
>
> 15. A Hero WOD is normally a more difficult WOD that has been dedicated to a service man or woman who has given their life serving the rest of us.
