When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?

I first started doing crossfit in March 2014 after hearing a lot about it from my boyfriend, also a CFB member, and figured I needed to give it a shot and switch up my fitness routine. After that first day I havent stepped foot in my original go-to Best Fitness gym since.

What fitness activities were you doing before?

Right before I decided to try something new, my workout routine consisted of lots of spin classes, which is the one thing I really enjoyed, running on a treadmill and using a stair stepper at a commercial gym. Once in a while I would work up a little courage to use dumbbells and some weight machines but never felt like I was benefitting from it.

What results have you seen since you joined Crossfit Beyond?

Since joining crossfit I've definitely become a lot stronger, more so than I thought would ever be possible for me, never really having any upper body strength before.  I've noticed a big change in my endurance and definitely increased confidence and courage to try a new movement or to lift heavier, even if I think I might fail.  It's also influenced my awareness to my posture and the foods I put into my body.

What do you like most about Crossfit Beyond?

What I like most about CFB are the people I get to work out with everyday. The same gym routine gets so boring but at CFB the atmosphere is fun and encouraging.

What is your favorite CF exercise?

My favorite CF exercises are any that involve overhead squats and dumbbell work; dumbbell cleans, thrusters and snatches.  Also double unders...now that I can do them.

Your least favorite?

My least favorite would be wall balls, they're so exerting and feel never ending for me!

What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?

There are so many things I've accomplished that still amaze me.  Something as simple as not needing the green band for pullups, being able to do double unders, and deadlift over 200 pounds, and improve my snatch technique.  But overall I'm most proud of my overhead squat.

What CF goal are you working towards?

I don't have one specific goal of reaching a certain weight on a lift or reaching a certain time on a WOD. My current goals are more general: to be able to generate more power with my lifts and also to overcome that mental struggle of movements in general; being completely comfortable in a handstand, or being able to do a higher box jump. After the mental and powerful aspects become the focus, I'll let the rest happen when it happens.
