This week's Spotlight Athlete is Brad! You can find Brad at different class times, on the weekend, and even during open gym! Read on to learn about Brad's story!


When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?


I started CrossFit last November. It’s a familiar story, I was growing tired of my usual fitness routine and after watching the CrossFit Games on TV I thought it was something I wanted to try.  


What fitness activities were you doing before?


I was doing weightlifting and running at a standard gym. 


What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?


I have become stronger across the board and my overall fitness has improved.  


What do you like most about CF?


I enjoy the “constantly varied” aspect of CrossFit. The workouts are always changing and that makes it fun and interesting. Plus you get to do Olympic lifts which I haven’t really done before. 


What is your favorite CF exercise?


 It’s not my strongest by I really like overhead squats. 


Your least favorite?


Box jumps. They’re not fun.


What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?




I think I am most proud of my overall improvement in fitness. It was a pretty humbling experience when I first started—you think you are in decent shape until you do a WOD that includes multiple, varied movements and you can barely finish! The WODs aren’t easy now, but I am much more prepared to take on these workouts. 

 



What CF goal are you working towards?


I want to improve my technique on everything, but especially on the Olympic lifts.
