When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?
I first started doing CrossFit back in March of 2012, when I first moved to the Albany area. Friends of mine had been doing CrossFit and suggested I give it a try. I was determined to give it two months to see if it was for me, but after the first WOD I was hooked.
What fitness activities were you doing before?
I was generally active prior to starting CrossFit. I had been going to the gym for years doing the same sort of push/pull routine with mixed results, as well as running and cycling consistently.
What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?
The biggest result that I've seen so far has been an increase in strength, and ability to do work. Its a good feeling to keep track of a few bench mark WODs, and see your times and weights improve when you come back to them every few months.
What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?
Like most, I like the comrodery and environment surrounding CrossFit and our box. Also, I like what CrossFit has taught me about training intelligently and for a purpose.
What is your favorite CF exercise?
I really enjoy Squatting and the Olympic Lifts. While they are not specifically CrossFit exercises I fell in love with them while doing CrossFit. Also, while really hard, I like the Hero WOD Murph.
Your least favorite?
Anything that has to do with rowing or burpees.
What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
After committing to a strength program over the summer I have seen my squat and bench press improve significantly in the past few months.
What CF goal are you working towards?
I plan to spend the next year really focusing on my strength program, I have some goals written down that I'd like to reach in the next three, six and twelve months. Also, I'd like to compete in a few regional competitions...and muscle ups, I want to finally get my first one!
