When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?
I started crossfit at the end of 2013 after finishing my first marathon I was looking for something new to try. I heard a lot of good things about Crossfit Beyond so I figured I'd give it a try and ended up committing myself to a year membership in 2014
What fitness activities were you doing before?
Before crossfit I was running long slow distances almost exclusively, and not challenging myself to improve in any way
What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?
Since I started going to Crossfit Beyond I've learned tons about lifting. I can deadlift over 200#, my technique has improved and I've gained confidence in myself. I'm still figuring a lot of pieces out and taking my time learning
What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?
I like the variety of workouts and the support from everyone at the gym. I like the genuine care Joy has in each person who comes to her gym whether they are a member or just dropping in for a day and I enjoy the special WODs like Murph where everyone is invited to come workout and share the experience.
What is your favorite CF exercise? Your least favorite?
My favorite exercise is dumbbell snatches and slam balls. Least favorite is wall balls- I always seem to smack myself in the face with the ball
What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
It's difficult to pick one but I' m proud of my increased endurance and that my mile time is slowly getting close to my fastest time from HS
