When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?
I first started CrossFit when I lived in VT at Green Mountain CrossFit in the Spring of 2012 for about 7 months. It was awesome, they had an outdoor fit park, and box jumps made out of tree stumps. Fast forward to March of 2013 when I moved to Albany ending my CrossFit hiatus, and I've been loving the 4pm class ever since! Before CFB I was doing a ton of personal training for other clients and I wanted to take the thought out of my own workouts and have someone else plan them for me! :) With a box so close to where I worked/lived it only made sense to join back up.
What fitness activities were you doing before?
Anything outdoors- running, recently got into road biking, Nordic and downhill skiing, tennis, lots of cardio and some lifting.
What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?
I’ve learned a ton more about mobility and prepping my body for a workout/life. I’ve gained a whole new community and group of friends. And I’ve gotten bigger, faster, stronger. (mmmm maybe not that much faster ;P)
What do you like most about CF?
Community, constant variation, Oly lifting, being done in an hour.
What is your favorite CF exercise?
Pull-ups! I was working hard at getting strict pull-ups before I joined, but now I can do 6 in a row and I'm super happy about that! I also love running WODS and WODS you can do outside—like summer post WOD beverage after parties.
Your least favorite?
Double unders and thrusters
What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?
CF L1 trainer certification, being able to lead a mobility class and educate others on movement and their bodies.
What CF goal are you working towards?
Double Unders and a Muscle Up. I just want one and then I can walk away happy! Until then I’ll keep working.
