Spotlight Athlete-Tim!!

This week's Spotlight Athlete is Tim!  Tim is a morning and afternoon class attendee. Read on to learn about  Tim's great story!

When/Why did you first start doing CrossFit?

I first started doing CrossFit after my friend from back home suggested I do it. I looked into Crossfit and decided I wanted to try it out. I keep coming back because it's such a great way to exercise and meet new people.

What fitness activities were you doing before?

Before I was going to the gym maybe once or twice a week. I was doing some cardio on the elliptical, some free weight lifting and machine exercises but nothing very strenuous.

What results have you seen since you joined CrossFit Beyond?

Since joining Crossfit Beyond I have noticed my endurance and overall strength has increased. I am much stronger than I was when I first started last year.

What do you like most about CrossFit Beyond?

What I like the most about Crossfit Beyond is the community aspect. I can come in any day and know I will be pushed by Joy and the other athletes at the box. I also enjoy how everyone cares about each other. It's truly like a second family. It's definitely a good feeling anytime I am at Crossfit Beyond.

What is your favorite CF exercise?

My favorite exercise is the power hang clean. I like the explosive feeling that the exercise calls for. You truly feel like your weightless for a split second.

Your least favorite?

My least favorite exercise is probably thrusters. It takes a toll on your thighs and usually thruster workouts have many rrepetitions

What CF accomplishment are you currently most proud of?

The achievement I am most proud of is being able to do 24" box jumps consecutively. I am a little afraid of heights but I will myself to jump up there when the WOD calls for box jumps.

What CF goal are you working towards?

I hoping to be able to do body movements without scaling. I'd like to be able to get a strict pull up and a handstand pushup under my belt. Other than that I am striving for PRs in the next couple months in all the free weight movements.
