The Open Begins this Thursday!


The CrossFit Open is 4 days away! The 15.1 workout will be released this Thursday night, February 26th!

As in previous years, the Open will be a five-week competition with one new workout per week. We will be doing the workouts during all classes every Friday.

The weekly workouts will be released each Thursday night, and those who have registered for the open, will have four days to complete the workout and log their score on the Games site. Score submissions will be due before 3:00pm on the Monday following the workout’s release.

If you are unable to make it to a class on Friday, members are encouraged to makeup or re-do the workouts on Saturdays and Sundays during open gym. Please submit your scores as soon an possible.

If you signed up to compete with the in house intramural team competition, Mo has put together teams on the whiteboard at the gym. Check it out and be ready for some fun with your teams!

Here is a recap of the intramural rules:Well we will have 4 captains who will helm 4 teams.  Each team will be composed of interested athletes through a random draft style drawingTeams score points by team members not only showing up to do the Open WODs (this goes for both RX and Scaled) BUT ALSO SUPPORTING!

The Scoring breakdown is as follows:

+1 Point – Attendance: every member of a team that completes an Open workout at Beyond each week earns one point. Maximum one point per athlete per workout. This goes for Rx AND Scaled competitors!

+1 Point – Top 3: every male AND female member who places among the Top 3 at Beyond for each workout (Rx only) gets an extra point for their team.

+5 Points (team) – Spirit: The team with the most noise, pride, and PRESENCE each week will receive 5 bonus points.

+5 Points (bonus) – The winner of the 6th Mystery Workout (Date and WOD TBD)

Prizes will be given!

Each team will have their own Facebook group and team name. We highly encourage you to make shirts and wear fun costumes.

To minimally participate you and your team do not need to do the Open WODs at the same class time, but to get those 5 extra spirt points a majority of your team must show up at one time.
